#CoastAlong social media round-up

12 September 2011

Coast Along for WaterAid 2011 was the first national WaterAid event to be covered live on the day, using social media. Our Coast Along ambassadors did a fine job of documenting their every move on the day using the #coastalong Twitter hashtag, and have now started to post round-ups on their blogs:

Karen Strunks – My WaterAid Coast Along walk
I had a fantastic day in Cardiff Bay when I joined nearly one hundred other walkers for WaterAid’s Coast Along event…

Transatlantic Blonde – Coast Along 2011
Yesterday Blondie Boy, his Grandma and I walked 6 miles along the Ayrshire coast, a little bit more than the average 6km women and children walk to get water often from unprotected water sources…

Rosie Scribble – Coast Along for WaterAid 2011
So it was not quite on the scale of David Walliams’ epic swim down the Thames. But still. There was water involved and bare legs on display…

Sian To – Walking for WaterAid
Just over fifteen years ago as I lay in intensive care, I was told that I’d never walk again…

BumpWearClaire posted some great pics on Instagram on the day.

We’ve done a full round-up using Storify, below. Enjoy – and if you like it, share it!
